When the parcel of air reaches top of the mountain, if it is still warmer than the surrounding air it will continue to rise. If the parcel of rising air is now cooler than the surrounding air it will begin to descend. The air will warm at the Dry Adiabatic Lapse Rate, 10 degrees/1000m.
