General Links

Homework Spot

This is a great site for everything from math and science to social studies and language arts. This site has information for elementary, middle school, and high school broken down by subject. This site is primarily a link site that has tons of sites listed with brief descriptions about what each is and what its for. There is a nice section that also has links to find current events as well as a section for parents. A lot of the linds are interactive including questions being answered by professionals and students testing their knowledge against the computer or head to head with other students.

Paul Revere School

This site is a tremendous resource for all grade levels. Particularly the section labeled "Teacher". This page has a plethora of links broken down by subject. It has lesson plans as well as links for other teacher resources for the practicing teacher and the education student. Lots of information here that is very applicable in a variety of ways.

Michigan Curriculum Framework

This site offers a full online text of the Michigan Curriculum Framework. Very useful when the hard copy is forgotten. It is a little tedious to dig through online and slow if you aren't on a fast line, but still helps when in a pinch.

Teachnet.com

Teachnet.com is broken into four main sections: Lesson Plans, Powertools, Sharing, and Help. Each is designed to give teachers a way to gather ideas and to share their ideas for other teachers to utilize. Lessons cover K-12 but aren't organized that way so you have to look at each lesson to find out what grade level it covers. Despite this, this is a very helpful site.

Science Links

Science Made Simple

This site is an excellent resource for science. It gives teaching techniques as well as a wealth of lesson plan ideas with activities to work in. All activities are broken down by subject matter. They also have a section for finding supplies, science news, and project ideas. Very helpful!

Mad Science Network

This site is great. It has a good variety of activities and breaks them down by edible and inedible. With experiments that cover all age levels this site offers a lot of great ideas to bring fun into science in the classroom.

Math Links

What You Need to Know About - Math Page

This site particularly caught my eye because it has a wide variety of pages that cover anything from interactive extra help to asking questions. It covers all education levels from K-12. Though it has a quite a few pop-ups, it is still very useful. My favorite part to this site was the A+ section that has games and flashcards that can be used with students. Also an excellent tutor resource as I currently am using it with a couple of my little people.

Los Angeles County Office of Education Math Resources

I like this page. It is alphabetized by subject. All subjects are math related and are linked to another site. Where this may not be the best site to find specific information on something, it would be great for getting ideas. A few of examples of the topics are the history of the abbicus, the history of mathemetics, and the puzzle parlor.

Music Links

Music Motion

This site is a basicly an online catalog that has a lot of resources that could be used for art and music integration into the classroom. From CD's to musical equipment, they have it all at very reasonable prices. Many resource books are also available on this site.

Mud Pie Productions

This site is primarily a resource for getting musical equipment at good prices. They are currently updating the site so they just give the address to order a catalog but otherwise the catalog is right online. They have most any instrument avialable covering many cultures and styles. Great resource to equip yourself in the class to integrate music into daily learning!

Music Shoals Music Academy

This site was very useful for me when I was learning about the benefits of music in the classroom. It has a lot of information on the effects of music on brain function. It also has a variety of links for other resources from shops to teaching programs.
