Weather is the general conditions of the atmosphere all around us, and it is constantly changing. Weather
can be talked about in more specific terms too. We can narrow weather down to conditions of specific times or places, like
temperature, wind and wind speeds of an area, moisture, or even cloudiness. Another part of weather, which we will
discuss here, is lightning and thunder. By beginning to understand one aspect of weather, you will have a way to look at the
bigger picture, of weather as a whole. Here you can begin to find some answers, starting with lightning and thunder, that
will help you understand one element of the larger picture: weather and the atmospheric conditions around us.
You will be able to learn and understand the following: what causes lightning, how lightning forms and what happens when it forms,
what thunder is and what it means, what causes thunder, and a few good safety tips to help prepare and protect yourself from
the dangers of lightning during a thunderstorm.
