1. Turn your square of paper so it looks like a diamond, with one corner pointing at you as it
is flat on the table in front of you, as in picture 1.
2. Fold the top corner labeled A (in the picture) down so that it is touching the closest corner
to you, corner B. Your paper should look like an upside-down triangle, like in the picture on the right.

3. Fold the left side of the upside-down triangle, labeled C, all the way to the right side, labeled D. This will give you another triangle, half the size of the other, like in picture 3. |
4. Unfold all the folds you just made so that you have a flat square of paper turned with one corner pointing at you, like in the first step. You paper should look like the picture to the right. The dashed lines indicate the creases from the folds that you have made. We will use these as guidelines for the next steps and to help locate the center of the paper. |
