My goal was to find some great resources for students. Many of these pages will give assistance in homework, extra understanding of subjects, or even additional practice. Parents and teachers may find this as a useful guide to help on the internet.

MATH

WebMath
This website provides a great demonstration of math problems for students. This site will show you the steps for math problems along with explaining any formulas that may go along with it. This help page can be used for almost any grade, including high school math.

Math Stories
This website can help with solving story problems. It lets the student choose a way they want to solve it and shows them how with an example.

Math.com
At Math.com there are many resources for students. The Homework Helper section shows how to do different types of math problems. Also by using the list along the side of the page, students can find formulas for many different topics having to deal with math.

AAAMath.com
This site has math games for students of all ages. It will help with the different concepts of math and allows practice with different drill type excercises.

Coolmath.com
There are a variety of games, activities, and other helpful items for students. There are descriptive lessons with examples to further explain concepts that generally found difficult in a math classroom.

Language Arts

English Gammer
This site has examples of different parts of English grammer. The site is designed for an upper elementary level but could be helpful to any age.

Word Central
This site is a fun place for kids to visit. They have things to make codes, a word of the day to expand their vocabulary, a dictionary, and a rhyming dictionary. Kids can also make their own "Mad Lib" poems which help identify parts of a sentence such as a noun or adjective.

Brain Pop English
This site helps distinguish the difficult parts of English grammer. It uses movies, activities, and comics to help learn.

Science

Brain Pop Science
This site has mini-movies and quizes to help understand and learn some of the hard ideas in science. With each topic there is a hands on experiment that can be done at home by kids to help understand what they have learned. Along with experiments, there is also other activities and comics about the topics.

Fact Monster Science
Fact Monster Science contains a lot of general information about many science topics. This would be an excellent source for extra information to understand a topic or for a research project.

HowStuffWorks.com
This web page is a little harder to navigate through, but taking the time and having patience is well worth it. Their are simplified descriptions along with some animation as to how things work.

Chem4kids.com
This is a great introductory to chemistry for young children. They have many of the aspects of chemistry broken down into easy to understand topics.

Home Experiments
This site has emperiments that can be done at home for many different subjects.

50 States
This site has a section for every state in the USA. In each section there are facts about statehood and links to many of the resources of each state.

Ben's Government Guide
This site has interactive activities online to help student learn about the United States and their government. The site is also divided into different age groups to make the site more age appropriate to the user.
