WHAT SHALL YOU FIND HERE? My intention here is to provide various resources for middle school students. You should find a pleasant array of sites that may be of interest to you. Hopefully you will find something you can add to your own favorite links. Happy hunting!

MATH RESOURCES FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS



Hours of Enjoyment -- A site with a wild assortment of challenging math mind games, tests, puzzles, and mathematicians autobiographies. It has an ever challenging list of things to explore.



The Math Forum: Middle School Center --. A rich collection of student showcases in math, problems and puzzles, tips and tricks, and a reference shelf full of interesting math facts. There is even a special section for current hands-on Internet projects. Check out for more information.



Brain Teasers -- A place for select groups of grade levels for some fun with math brain teasers. Each Wednesday evening the site will post a new Brain Teaser for each grade-range. Solutions will be posted a week later. Good luck and have fun!

LANGUAGE ARTS/READING RESOURCES FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS


WordCentral.com -- Includes topics like buzz words, a place to look up the definitions of words and meanings, and a chance to build your own dictionary. Sponsored by Merriam-Webster. Main audience is focused on middle school students.

English-Zone.Com -- English-Zone.Com is a fun site for STUDENTS who are learning English as a Second Language, or studying English in general. Here, you can learn some idioms, practice with English verbs, test your grammar, check out the fun stuff page, write a silly story, or visit links to other English sites!

SCIENCE RESOURCES FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS


Whale Watching Web -- Whale watching as a commercial activity began in 1955 in North America along the southern California coast. Today, whale watching is carried on in the waters of some 40 countries, plus Antarctica. All the large whale species and many dolphins and porpoises can be seen regularly on a wide range of tours, lasting from an hour to two weeks. Whale watching is a non-consumptive use of whales with economic, recreational, educational and scientific dimensions.




Conserving Wildlife and Habitats -- The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is the principal Federal agency for conserving, protecting, and enhancing fish, wildlife, plants, and their habitats for the continuing benefit of you, the American public. We manage the 93-million-acre National Wildlife Refuge System with more than 530 individual refuges, wetlands, and special management areas - and their 100th anniversary will be in 2003.
