Welcome to my homepage!
It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance. I am currently the owner of Maki Consulting, a computer-consulting firm I started back in 1991 here in Marquette, Michigan. My business consists of helping both residential and commercial clients with their computer systems, training needs, setups, and software development. I have to admit that I'm passionate about my work.
My new personal goal of teaching has brought me back to school (I'm a 1993 NMU graduate). My area of study includes English and computer science. I hope to be an English teacher in middle school.
I have spent the last six years teaching Introduction to Computers for Marquette Adult Education and various special seminars on computer-related topics for area businesses and NMU. Teaching in the classroom is always pleasurable and challenging. I find myself learning from my students constantly.
My hobbies include basketball refereeing (grade school through college), rollarblading, and poetry writing. I have also lived in Marquette, Michigan all my life.
And finally, on a personal note, when I was 20, I wrote a book entitled, Flying A Kite, a collection of short stories and poems, which is available at the Learning Resource Center (LRC) if you desire a good read.
With over 70 million places to visit, the one that represents the Upper Michigan area is pasty.com. Here's another interesting one: The Z-Chip is a card trick on-line. Something for your mind.
For refereeing information, I have two sights: The Red Hacker and Referee for information on basketball rules and insights.
