AMPLITUDE CHANGES IN Y = SIN (X)



AMPLITUDE is the number, |a| ,in the formula below:

y = a sin (b ( x - s )) + v

Amplitude tells us the "vertical stretch" of the curve.

In this example, |a| = 2.
So, the new curve is twice as high as y = sin(x).
