| Gutenberg | Gutenberg is one of the best sites that I found available for e-books. This site is very well laid out and easy to understand. There are also so many different choices of books that there is something there for everyone to enjoy. All that you have to do is click on the on-line book catalog. Once you are there search by author or title. If you don’t know it’s very easy to browse through the different books. I would recommend Gutenberg to anyone that is interested in e-books. |
| Online Books | Online Books is another good resource’s for downloading an e-book. They have over 20,000 books to satisfy anyone’s needs. There website is also easy to use for all ages, no matter what computer experience one has. The site is very straight forward; you’re able to search all the books, by author, title and even serial number. For the frequent e-book reader they also have a place where you can review the books that have been recently added to their site. Be sure to check out this site today. |
| E Text | The E Text website is more geared at someone that already knows what they are looking for. Although you can browse by topic area its very convient for someone that knows exactly what book they want. When you enter this page you have to scroll down to the bottom until you reach the part of the page that reads "search the full text of all 1,800 e books." Once you have clicked on search you can type in what you are looking for. This site makes it very clear on how to download and doesn’t make you shuffle past all of the advertising that you don’t care about. |
| Many Books | Many Books make many ways to search for exactly what you are looking for very easy. They have a very diverse collection of books and if you want to you can even find books that are written in different languages. There are other ways to search too, like a lot of the other websites this one also allows you to search by author, title and category as well. If you don’t have anything in mind to read there is a place where you can read reviews from other people that have visited the site and read the book to see what they thought. If you are an author you can also put your book on this site is you wish. |
| Reading A-Z | This website is more geared towards younger children. The books are listed in different levels as the child’s reading skills improve. The books are also available in different subjects as well as different languages. There aren’t as many books available here like other sites but I think that all of the books that are available are ones that children will enjoy. It will also give the kids a chance on the computer and you know that they are doing something educational. To download these books all you need to do is click on the title of the book that you wish to read, it’s easy. |
| Classic Bookshelf | The Classic Bookshelf makes all different books available for their readers. Whether you are interested in new releases or classics they will have a book for you. The site also gives you a brief introduction to reading e-books and how you can familiarize yourself with them. As soon as you enter the page a box is given where you can search what you are looking for. It’s very easy to use and will take you no time at all before you are lost in a great book. |
| Sun Site | This website is more directed at someone who is interest in reading medieval novels and the classics. You can search in the same ways that are offered on most of the e-book sites. You can also just browse the title and/or authors if you prefer to find books that way. This would be a good way to read the books that you always wanted to but never got around to it now they are all at your disposal. |
| Jogena | Jogena has books that you have to pay for as well as books that are free so you have to be careful when you enter this site. When the home page has opened on the right hand side it will say “download e-books now,” that is where you want to go to get your free e-books. To find an e-book you have to browse by category, which is kind of inconvenient. Therefore this site might not be for you if you know specifically what you want, but for the reader that is looking for a specific subject area this site will be great for you. |
| Black Mask | Black Mask allows the reader to search for the book that they want by author or by title. This website has a lot of unnecessary items on it that could easily get you distracted into buying something that you don’t really want. So if you can resist temptation than I think that this site will be fine for you. They also offer searching for books by their category. I think that this is an ok website for finding a book that fits your needs. |
| Questia | Questia would be a great resource if you had to write a research paper. This site allows you to search for journals, newspapers, books, encyclopedias and magazines. As far as e-books go though this site really allows you to narrow your searches so you don’t have to pick through the books that you don’t actually want. You can type in the author, title, the publisher and more. This would be a great site to look for that specific book that you are having trouble finding. |
| Page By Page Books | This site has a lot of books available to you the reader. There website is also made easy for the avid reader. It had a list of newly added books so you always know what has changed so you don’t miss out on the book you are dying to read. When you open this page it is very user friendly there isn’t a maze that you have to go through just to start searching for you book. On the home page it gives you a link to search by author or title get site for someone that is in a hurry. |
